Dwellup covers all of Quebec. If you don't see listings in a specific area, it's likely because:

  • There are currently no available apartments in that area
  • Your filters are too restrictive

Try widening your search parameters or adjusting your filters to see more results.

"Similar listings" are properties that share characteristics with the listing you're viewing:

  • Similar price
  • Same number of bedrooms
  • Geographically close
  • Similar property type

This feature helps you quickly compare similar options and not miss anything!

Tips for effective searching:

  • Start broad: Use few filters first, then refine
  • Price: Set a realistic maximum budget with some margin
  • Bedrooms: Consider ±1 bedroom from your ideal
  • Area: Slightly expand your geographic zone
  • Pets: This filter eliminates many options, use only if necessary

Yes! You can edit your saved filters at any time. Just go to your account page, find the saved search you want to modify, and click the "Edit" button. You can also give your searches custom names to help you remember what each one is for.

You can save up to 3 searches for free. If you need to add more, delete an existing search first.

To contact a landlord:

  1. Click on the listing you're interested in
  2. On the details page, look for the contact button
  3. The button will be labeled "Contact on [platform name]" where the platform varies depending on the listing source
  4. Click the button to be redirected to the original listing platform

Note: Dwellup aggregates listings but doesn't handle communications. You'll be redirected to the original platform where the listing was posted.

The technology we use to aggregate listings does not give us access to phone numbers.

Use the provided contact button to reach the landlord through the original listing platform.

No, landlords cannot see your dwellup profile:

  • Dwellup doesn't share any personal information with landlords
  • When you contact via the original listing platform, only that platform's info is visible
  • You control what you share in your messages

A good first message includes:

  • Brief introduction: Who you are (student, professional, etc.)
  • Clear interest: Why this property interests you
  • Relevant information: Number of occupants, pets, desired move-in date
  • Specific questions: Availability for viewing, inclusions, etc.
  • Contact info: Your phone number if you want a callback

Avoid generic messages like "Is this still available?" - be more specific!

Our listings are updated regularly:

  • New listings added multiple times a day
  • Expired listings removed multiple times a day
  • Prices and availability verified regularly

For the newest listings, enable alerts on your saved searches!

Sometimes the same property may appear multiple times because:

  • The landlord posted it on multiple platforms
  • The listing was reposted with slight modifications
  • Multiple real estate agents are listing the same property

Our system detects and groups most duplicates, but some may slip through. You can help by using the "Report inaccurate information" button on obvious duplicates!

To report an error:

  1. On the listing page, click "Report inaccurate information"
  2. Enter the details in the "Reason" field
  3. Submit the report

We review all reports and fix errors quickly. Thanks for helping us improve quality!

Missing information may be due to:

  • The landlord didn't provide all details
  • The source platform doesn't collect that information
  • The information wasn't in a standard format

Our AI tries to extract maximum info from text, but always contact the landlord to confirm important details.

Some rental platforms don't publish the exact street address, and sometimes it's the landlord who prefers not to make it public. When only a partial address or neighbourhood is provided, we try to find the closest address with the information we have.

The pin you see may be close to, but not exactly at, the actual building. It's always best to confirm the exact address directly with the landlord before visiting.

Dwellup collects listings from many different platforms and uses geocoding to convert text addresses into map coordinates. Occasionally this process can produce an inaccurate result because:

  • The original listing contained a vague or incomplete address
  • The landlord preferred not to publish the exact address
  • The geocoding service matched to a nearby but wrong location
  • The address format was unusual or misspelled in the original listing

If you spot a wrong address, please report it so we can fix it (see "How do I report incorrect information?" above).

Yes! On the listing page, click "Report inaccurate information" and mention that the address is wrong in the reason field. We review every report and correct address issues as quickly as possible.

Absolutely! For neighborhood alerts:

  1. Use the filters to select a city (e.g., Montreal) or specific neighborhood (e.g., "Montreal - Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce")
  2. Apply your other filters (price, bedrooms, etc.)
  3. Save this search
  4. If alerts are enabled in your account settings, you'll receive notifications for this saved search

You can save up to 3 searches for different neighborhoods!

To stop receiving alerts:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Go to "My Account"
  3. In the "Account Management" section, find "Email Notifications"
  4. Uncheck "Receive alerts" or set the frequency to "Off"

You can reactivate alerts anytime from the same location!

You can choose from several notification frequencies:

  • Instant (Premium): Alerts delivered within seconds of us finding new listings
  • Daily (Free): A summary sent every morning around 8am
  • Weekly (Free): A summary sent every Sunday morning around 8am

The frequency applies to all your saved searches. You can change it anytime in your Notifications settings.

Yes! You can customize your alert frequency in your Notifications settings.

Go to "My Account" → "Notifications" tab to choose between Instant (Premium), Daily, Weekly, Updates Only, or None.

Note: The frequency setting applies to all your saved searches. For more details, see the question "How do I activate or deactivate email alerts?"

If you're not receiving alerts, the most common reason is having too restrictive filters.

Try broadening your search parameters:

  • Increase your maximum price
  • Expand your location/neighborhood selection
  • Consider flexible bedroom counts
  • Remove optional filters that might be limiting results

Also make sure alerts are enabled in your "Account Management" → "Email Notifications" settings, and check your spam/junk folder.

Alerts are sent in the morning:

  • Daily: Every morning around 8am
  • Weekly: Sunday morning around 8am

You can change the frequency in "My Account" → "Account Management" → "Email Notifications".

No, if you sign up in the morning, you'll receive your first alert the next day (or the following Sunday if you chose weekly frequency).

The system sends alerts early in the morning, so a signup made during the day will be included in the next scheduled send.

Instant alerts is a paid feature that sends you email notifications within seconds of us finding new listings that match your saved searches.

Our system continuously monitors for new listings. Once we detect a match, you're alerted immediately — giving you a head start in contacting landlords.

Our system continuously monitors for new listings. As soon as we detect a listing that matches your criteria, you'll receive an alert within seconds.

This means you'll know about new apartments shortly after they're posted — much faster than checking sites manually.

Some rental platforms have quirky timing behavior. Listings may show as posted hours ago even though they just became visible to our system. From what we've observed, this can happen because:

  • Landlords can "bump" or refresh old listings
  • Some platforms delay showing listings while they're being reviewed
  • Listings may be held in pending status before going live
  • Some platforms seem to delay visibility when a user posts multiple listings at once

Even when this happens, you're still among the first people to see these listings.

To purchase instant alerts:

  1. Go to "My Account" → "Notifications" tab
  2. Select "Instant" from the notification options
  3. Choose your preferred duration (1, 2, or 3 months)
  4. Complete your purchase via Stripe (secure payment)
  5. Your instant alerts are active immediately

No, instant alerts is a one-time purchase. There is no automatic renewal or recurring billing.

When your access expires, you can choose to purchase again if you wish. You're always in control.

Yes! You can purchase additional time at any point. New purchases are added to your existing access.

For example, if you have 2 weeks remaining and buy 1 month, you'll have 6 weeks total.

You'll receive a reminder when you have 7 days or less remaining.

When access expires, your account automatically switches to the free daily alerts option. You won't lose your saved searches or any other account features.

Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
